About UsTeardrops to Rainbows (T2R) is a recognized 501(c)(3), organization based in Fairfax, Virginia which provides support, services and financial assistance to area children with cancer and their families. T2R plays an active role in helping families through the many stages of treatment for a life-threatening illness.
Teardrops to Rainbows was founded in memory of Rachel Crossett.
Lois Lyons, founder of Teardrops to Rainbows remembers Rachel, "Rachel Crossett, a wise 'old soul', a six-year old. Rachel was brought into this world for a reason -- to brighten the lives of everyone who she touched -- directly or indirectly -- and to give us all a different perspective on living the life that we have been given. When I think of Rachel, I think of a quote that she helped to personify; 'It's not the years in the life, but rather the life in the years'. Rachel left this world in July, 2001, after a three-year battle with neuroblastoma. When I say battle, I mean it with all its intensity. Rachel took the bull by the horns, and played an active role in her fight. All the while though, she was a trooper, and the smile that lit up the room. Rachel, innately perhaps, impacted the lives of everyone around her. She made people laugh, she made them think, she helped them when they were down -- even if it was her situation that they were down about."
