Teardrops to Rainbows (T2R) is a recognized 501(c)(3), organization based in Fairfax, Virginia which provides support, services and financial assistance to area children with cancer and their families. T2R plays an active role in helping families through the many stages of treatment for a life-threatening illness. Thank you for making 2009 such a great year. We hope 2010 will be even better.
2009...Our Seventh Year -- The Year of the T(w)een!
Our focus in 2009, while continuing to support oncology children (and their families) of all ages throughout our network of hospitals (Inova, Georgetown and Childrens National Medical Center) has given special attention to "T(w)eens" The Life with Cancer Family Center has opened (video), and Rachel's Teen Scene will be operational in mid-August.
Teardrops to Rainbows sponsored the teen lounge, selecting and donating teen-appropriate furnishings and wall decor, providing volunteers for the young adult survivors conference on July 25, and sponsoring a 1K college scholorship to one of our survivors! We are thrilled to have formed a valued partnershp with Life with Cancer and to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of teenagers.
